Northern Stars: Rosemary Jenkinson & Wendy Erskine


Women writers from Northern Ireland are having a moment and we are delighted to be joined by two of the brightest talents currently writing today.

Rosemary Jenkinson was born in Belfast and is an award-winning playwright and short story writer. She won the 2001 Black Hill Magazine Short Story Competition and was shortlisted for the 2002 Hennessey Award for New Writing. Her first collection of short stories, 'Contemporary Problems Nos. 53 & 54' was published in 2004 and her second collection, 'Aphrodite's Kiss ">★★★★

Wendy Erskine lives in Belfast. Her work has been published in The Stinging Fly, Winter Papers, Female Lines: New Writing from Northern Ireland and Being Various: New Irish Short Stories (Faber) and has been read on BBC4.

Her first collection 'Sweet Home', was published by The Stinging Fly Press in September 2018 and was shortlisted for the Republic of Consciousness Prize.
