Finding activities to keep the kids busy over the holidays can be hard in a city like London where there is so much going on. You can feel a little bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start looking for ideas. With this in mind, we have rounded up a list of things to do during the Easter weekend in London that the kids (both big and little) will love.
Raver Tots Easter Special at Croydon Boxpark
After a fully sold out show on New Years Day, Raver Tots is back for an Easter special. Some of the best DJs & MCs in London come and play their tunes (at safe levels) especially for the little ones. If you are nostalgic about your nights out raving and what to start your kids young – then this is for you.
Boxpark, Sun 1 Apr.
Zippos Circus Legacy
Experience the joy and wonder of the circus as Zippos comes to town in time for the Easter weekend. Flexible acrobats, daring equestrians, crazy clowns and brave daredevils keep you on the edge of your seat. A special appearance from ringmaster Norman Barrett MBE and his exotic birds is sure to keep the kids entertained.
Blackheath Common, Thu 29 Mar–Tue 10 Apr.
Puss In Boots: Easter Pantomime
Proving that the pantomime is not just for Christmas, the Puss In Boots pantomime promises all the classic tropes of a panto and certainly lots of laughs. It has a shorter running time than traditional Christmas pantos (100 minutes including interval) so it's a good opportunity to introduce the smaller ones to this kind of show.
The Dugdale Centre, Wed 28 Mar–Sun 15 Apr.
Animal Easter Trail
The Royal Air Force Museum will put on an Easter trail throughout the museum all Easter weekend. As well as enjoying the cool planes and exhibits, kids can search for hidden animals buried amongst them to win yummy chocolate.
Royal Air Force Museum, Sat 31 Mar–Fri 6 Apr.
Eco Easter Egg-stravaganza
Eco-Easter invites families to come along and think about nature and the environment this holiday. Take part in a nature trail or a build-your-own bug house workshop, ahead of the spring season, to see how nature changes into a new season. Popular activities like face painting and character visits are also happening.
The Boardwalk Shopping Centre, Sat 31 Mar.
Easter Movie Making
One for the older kids who are not interested in yet another Easter egg hunt. Let them get creative and make their own superhero movie which they direct, shoot, crew and perform in all by themselves. They also get to learn how to do fun stunts and special effects.
Mon 9 Apr–Fri 13 Apr.
Family Magic Show
Theo the Magician and Amigo's Magic bring comedy and mayhem to a spectacular magic show for all the family. Expect the opportunity for audience participation and round off the Easter weekend with a smile.
The Ivy House, Mon 2 Apr.
Easter Shed at Chickenshed
This series of drama, dance, singing and storytelling workshops allow kids to develop performance skills and let all their energy out. Parents will have the opportunity to see everything the kids have learned in a final afternoon performance at the end of the workshops.
Chickenshed, Mon 9 Apr–Fri 13 Apr.
Dusty's Giant Duck Hunt
Head along to the London Wetland Centre for a massive Easter hunt for giant ducks hidden all over the wetland. If you find them all you have the chance to win lots of prices. After you've found all the ducks you can then embark on a spot of pond dipping and discover the creatures who call the Wetland home.
London's Wetland Centre, Fri 30 Mar.
Digital Kids Easter Holidays
The V&A are putting on a range of activities this year to celebrate Easter. Parents can visit the museum while the kids take part in this workshop that introduces them to technology and how they can use it to do interesting things like explore the world.
