Cameron Mackintosh's production of the classic musical tours the UK for the first time in almost a decade
Nearly a decade since the production toured the UK, selling out in a few days, the classic musical will visit Leicester's Curve Theatre from Sat 3–Sat 24 Nov, before heading to Edinburgh's Festival Theatre in early 2019, with the show running there from Tue 22 Jan–Sat 16 Feb. It finishes with a stint at Manchester's Palace Theatre from Tue 19 Feb–Sat 30 Mar.
The show's producer, Cameron Mackintosh says: 'Since I first conceived the new production of Les Misérables to celebrate the show's 25th anniversary in 2009, it's taken the world by storm – more than matching the success of the original, which can now only be seen in London. It is playing to packed houses all over the world in many languages. It also inspired the hugely successful movie version starring Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne.'
With songs like 'I Dreamed a Dream', 'On My Own', 'Stars', 'Bring Him Home', 'Do You Hear the People Sing?', 'One Day More', 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables', 'Master Of The House' and many more, Les Misérables is one of the world's most popular musicals, and has been seen by over 120 million people in 45 countries and in 22 languages.
Mackintosh adds: 'I'm very proud that this extraordinary Boublil and Schönberg musical remains as fresh, thrilling and exciting as ever – and people are still storming the barricades for a ticket.'
