The The announce two Glasgow shows, get tickets

Post punk legends to play Barrowlands on Tue 4 Sep and the Royal Concert Hall the following night

The The are to play two shows in Glasgow this September as part of their 2018 comeback. Tickets for the shows go on general sale at 9am on Fri 9 Feb.

Formed in 1979, the post-punk icons only constant member is Matt Johnson, although a diverse range of collaborators, including Marc Almond, Sinead O'Connor, Lloyd Cole and Zeke Manyika, have contributed to the group's output.

Debut album Soul Mining was released in 1983, and featured the uplifting track 'This Is The Day', as well as 'The Sinking Feeling' and 'Uncertain Smile'. It reached number 27 in the UK charts but its impact has lasted through to the present day. Follow-up albums Infected, Mind Bomb and Dusk all charted in the top 20.

Johnson has maintained a low profile since 2003, but announced last year he was to reform the band, release music and perform some shows. Glasgow welcomes him, and the band, back with open arms.

The The play Glasgow Barrowlands on Tue 4 Sep, and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Wed 5 Sep. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Fri 9 Sep.
