Line of Duty and Orange is the New Black among the highlights on new Sony Crime Channel, launching on Freeview, Freesat and Sky
Sony are launching their second free-to-air channel in the UK on Tue 6 Feb. The new Sony Crime Channel will launch via Freeview and Sky (and will be available on Freesat a week later on Tue 13 Feb).
Unsurprisingly SCC will focus on crime, cops and thrillers. Big titles amongst it's opening lineup include the UK free-to-air première of Emmy Award-winning prison drama Orange is the New Black, alongside the first three series of Mercutio's highly addictive ultra tense police corruption thriller Line of Duty and the UK première of Canadian true crime series Real Detective: North of the Border. Plus a mix of scripted and true life crime classics such as Person of Interest, CSI, Spooks, Deadly Women, Hustle and Law & Order.
With Sony stating: 'Sony Crime Channel will create a one-stop destination for crime fans to immerse themselves in the genre with a vibrant fusion of fascinating stories, heart-pounding thrills, engrossing characters and stunning reveals.'
To mark the launch, Sony Crime Channel will take over True Entertainment and truTV on Tue 6 Feb for an opening night simulcast of Person of Interest (season 1) at 9pm, CSI (season 11) at 10pm and Orange is the New Black (season 1) at 11pm.
Sony Crime Channel launches on Tues 6 Feb. Find it on Freeview 60, YouView 60, Sky 157 and it will launch later in the month on Freesat 143 (from Tue 13 Feb).
