Las Vegas quartet join Scottish favourites Franz Ferdinand and CHVRCHES at the festival on Sun 8 Jul
The Killers are to headline next summer's TRNSMT on Sun 8 Jul, closing the festival's second year and joining the previously announced Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics at the top of the bill. Tickets for the show at Glasgow Green go on sale at 9am on Fri 8 Dec.
The Las Vegas group headlined T in the Park in 2007, 2009 and 2013, but this is their first appearance at TRNSMT. They released their fifth album Wonderful Wonderful back in September. Featuring 'The Man' and 'Run For Cover' it topped the charts in the UK.
There's a reason why Brandon Flowers and his bandmates and have made so many festival appearances in Scotland. With the anthemic 'Mr Brightside', 'When You Were Young' and 'All These Things That I've Done' in their repertoire, they inspire the sort of mainstage singalong that few bands can compete with.
Joining the band at Glasgow Green on Sun 8 Jul are two Scottish favourites. Franz Ferdinand, who release their latest long player Always Ascending in 2018, bring their irresistible indie pop and recently expanded lineup to TRNSMT, with the citizens of Glasgow sure to hear the hook from 'Take Me Out' ringing out for miles as it's hollered by thousands of well-watered revellers.
Synthpop titans CHVRCHES, the project of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, are the third act to be announced for the festival's final day. The trio emerged from nowhere to become one of the most hyped bands in the world, thanks to the impact of early singles 'Lies' and 'The Mother We Share'. Their return to live performance has been long awaited – could new material be in the works? We hope so.
