War Horse comes to Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2018, find out how to buy tickets

National Theatre's acclaimed production comes to the SEC Armadilo in January, and Edinburgh's Festival Theatre in the Spring

Rehearsals are underway for the next run of the National Theatre's hugely successful War Horse, which returns to the UK's stages on Fri 15 Dec, with tickets on sale now.

The internationally acclaimed production comes to Glasgow's SEC Armadillo from Tue 15 Jan to Sat 29 Jan and visits Edinburgh's Festival Theatre Wed 18 April to Sat 12 May.

Based on Michael Morpurgo's 1982 children's novel of the same name, the play has been performed to seven million people across eleven different countries since premiering ten years ago.

It tells the story of Joey, young Albert's beloved horse. Set during the unthinkable suffering of the Great War, it's a story of friendship like no other, an immensely popular tale that, having been adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg looks set to endure well beyond its first decade on stage.

In the leading role of Albert, is Thomas Dennis, who comes fresh from a critically acclaimed performance in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. The shows other stars are the remarkable life-sized horses, which were created by South Africa's world-renowned Handspring Puppet Company.

It's a heartwarming tale that'll captivate kids and move adults of all ages. Saddle up.

War Horse comes to Glasgow's SEC Armadilo from Tue 15 Jan to Sat 29 Jan 2018. It returns to Scotland later in the Spring, running at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre from Wed 18 Apr to Sat 12 May. Tickets are on sale now.
