Scottish singer-songwriter will travel the country on an intimate acoustic tour later this year

Amy Macdonald is to embark on an intimate acoustic tour this October and November. Tickets go on sale Fri 14 Jul at 9am.

The Scottish singer-songwriter, who first came to public attention in 2007 when her debut album This Is The Life topped the charts, will play eight shows across the UK.

The run of gigs kicks off at Northampton's Derngate on Sun 29 Oct, and takes in nights in Guildford, Llandudno, Warrington, Reading, Scunthrope and Cambridge, before finishing at London's Church of St John at Hackney on Wed 8 Nov.

After teaching herself to play guitar along to Travis songs as a teenager, Macdonald's first foray into songwriting struck gold. Her debut album included the hits 'Mr Rock & Roll', 'This Is The Life', 'Poison Prince' and 'L.A'.

Since then she's released three more albums, 2010's A Curious Thing, 2012's Life in a Beautiful Light and this year's Under Stars.
