Aidan Turner would love his alter-ego Ross Poldark to be his drinking buddy as he is a big boozer
Aidan Turner wants a drinking partner like his 'Poldark' alter ego.
The 33-year-old actor plays the titular character Ross Poldark in the BBC programme and says he'd love go on a wild night out with his fictional persona because he has a "great sense of humour" and he can down a few pints of beer.
Describing Poldark, he told the latest issue of TV Times magazine: "He's a fine person, a man of principle and he has a great sense of humour.
"Plus, he's a good drinker so it'd be a decent night!"
The dark-haired hunk also likes how caring and unselfish Poldark is, though he admits he's not perfect.
He said: "He's flawed but also courageous and always helping people. He's not a selfish person. He's not lazy and never rests on his laurels, which is what I like most about him."
Meanwhile, fans of the topless heartthrob are in for disappointment for the new series as Aidan has admitted he's asked bosses if he can keep his clothes on this year.
He recently said: "I think the clothes stay on this year.
"Maybe there is some topless sleeping, I can't remember. The clothes come on and off so easily these days."
The second instalment of the popular drama, based on the novels of Winston Graham, only wrapped up in the autumn last year but bosses have wasted no time shooting the third series as the next batch of episodes will drop next month.
The BBC confirmed at the end of last year that Aidan will return along with Eleanor Tomlinson, 25, as his wife Demelza.
It's not yet known if any more series are in the pipeline as of yet but Aidan previously revealed he would love to bring to life all 12 novels Winston penned from 1945 until 2002 to the small screen.
