Alexander Dreymon is keen to star in a third series of historical drama 'The Last Kingdom'
Alexander Dreymon wants to make a third season of 'The Last Kingdom'.
The second series of the BBC Two historical drama series, which is based Bernard Cornwall's novels 'The Saxon Stories', came to an end earlier this month, and the 34-year-old actor would love to reprise his role as protagonist Uhtred of Bebbanburg and says there have been talks for another instalment.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I would love to do a third season because I get along with everyone so well. It's like being a family. We will find out if there is a third season in the next couple of months."
For season two, Alexander had to film sex scenes in fur, which he admits was a lot "friskier" and more "uncomfortable" this time because they filmed in the summer.
He said: "It was a lot warmer this season because we filmed in summer, the first summer was shot in autumn/winter so it was a lot friskier. It was a lot more uncomfortable this season."
Alexander - who previously had a part as Luke Ramsay in 'American Horror Story' in 2013, but saw his character killed off - also revealed he hates the comparisons made between 'The Last Kingdom' and 'Game of Thrones' because it is based on true fact unlike the HBO series, which is fantasy conjured up in the mind of writer George R. R. Martin.
He said: "I think 'Game of Thrones' is a wonderful show and it is the number one show in the world at the moment so it is annoying to be compared to them, but ultimately it is a different show. It is based on historical fact and it is a little dirtier I'd say."
