Actor Adam Thomas is set to quit 'Emmerdale' to star in a panto, according to a report
Adam Thomas is reportedly set to quit 'Emmerdale' to star in a pantomime.
The 28-year-old actor, who stars as Adam Barton in the ITV soap, intends to walk away from the show to explore a money-spinning opportunity on the stage, where he could earn as much as £100,000.
A source said: "The soap community is quite a small one and Adam had heard from stars on other shows that doing a panto run is a great little earner.
"But ITV wasn't happy with him wanting to do both and said he had to choose. Unfortunately for them, he's decided to go with panto."
However, the show's bosses are hopeful that by allowing Adam the choice to star in panto, he will one day return to 'Emmerdale'.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "It's a great payday for him and he's a popular character on 'Emmerdale', so the bosses had to let him make his decision in the hope he may come back in the future."
Meanwhile, Adam insisted last month that he won't do any more reality TV shows, after he came third when he competed on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' in 2016.
Adam said he's not interested in signing up to any more programmes because he wants to focus on his acting career for the time being.
He shared: "No. I'm not going to do any more reality shows."
Adam and his fellow contestants got on very well during their time on 'I'm A Celeb', but the actor joked that he's no longer friends with his co-stars - especially Joel Dommett - because they ignore him.
He previously said as he burst into a fit of giggles: "We don't speak any more. We've all fallen out. Joel Dommett doesn't return my calls."
