Lenny Kravitz's furniture love
Lenny Kravitz has become a collector of fine furniture.
The 'Fly Away' singer has bought up many late twentieth century American furniture pieces, including one by Paul Evans called 'The Monster'.
Speaking of his buying influences, Grammy award-winner Kravitz said: "It's growing up in the 70s. I don't know how much I was taking in at the time, but when I got older and I got into design, I gravitated toward late 60s and 70s themes - there's the same parallel in my music."
New York antiques dealer Todd Merrill praised Kravitz's collection, calling it "impeccable," and naming 'The Monster' - a 12 foot long console - as his favourite piece.
Kravitz formed interior and furniture design company Kravitz Design in 2005. The company has since designed private homes and a recording studio.
Speaking in 2005 about his design success, Kravitz said: "I'll bump into women on the Upper East Side of New York who might not know me for my music, but they know me for my style."
Kravitz's collection includes furniture by Karl Springer, Willy Rizzo and Paul Evans.
