Doune The Rabbit Hole announce 2017 line-up

Headliners include Songhoy Blues, Liars and Start to End

With a capacity of 3000, Doune The Rabbit Hole may be one of Scotland's smallest festivals but that sure doesn't stop it from simultaneously being one of the mightiest. The announcement of the 2017 line-up more than proves this, with a stellar selection of acts set to take on the picturesque Cardross Estate this August.

Malian desert punk/blues four-piece Songhoy Blues will be on headliner duty alongside dance-punk trio Liars and Start to End, who will be performing a live interpretation of Daft Punk's Discovery in full. The line-up also features a host of Scottish acts including Idlewild's Roddy Woomble, Meursault, PAWS, Pronto Mama, The Vegan Leather and Happy Meals.

Elsewhere on the bill, you'll find the brilliant Jenny Hval, American rap/spoken word twosome Sage Francis and B Dolan (aka the Epic Beard Men) and New Jersey hip hop duo Ho99o9. There's also Snookerstar DJ Steve Davis, who will be headlining the Baino stage on Friday night, Decades of Dub Vibronics ft. Murray Man, Earl Gateshead, Dubkasm, Big Cat ft. Principal and DopeSickFly.

Having started life back in 2010, the festival has gained a reputation for its intimate atmosphere and family friendly nature, giving adults and kids alike the chance to enjoy the range of entertainment on offer. This year's festival promises not only live performances from various local and international artists but a children's area jam-packed with activities, workshops for all ages, a Yurt cinema, spoken word tent and fantastic food and drink from local suppliers.

Jamie Murray, Director of Doune The Rabbit Hole Community Interest Group, said: 'There is a real sense of community-spirit at Doune the Rabbit Hole and I guarantee you make friends for life. It is pretty rare to find an event that embraces a family-friendly culture whilst celebrating some amazing music from all genres. Where else would you see everyone, from toddlers to pensioners soaking up a festival atmosphere?'

Doune The Rabbit Hole Festival takes place from 18–20 Aug at the Cardross Estate, Stirlingshire. Visit dounetherabbithole.co.uk for tickets.
