Father John Misty to tour UK in November supporting third album Pure Comedy

The outspoken songwriter plays four shows after a summer which sees him headline End Of The Road festival

Father John Misty has announced UK tour dates in support of his third album Pure Comedy.

The third album by the one-time Fleet Foxes drummer and folk troubadour sees him in outspoken form. While sophomore effort I Love You, Honeybear tackled courtship with a knowing smile, occasionally skewering macho posturing, Pure Comedy is as pessimistic as it's funny incorporating political statements about Trump's America, and depicting a dystopian future where imaginary relationships with celebrities are as a good as pleasure gets.

Musically it recalls Elton John,Van Morrison and Randy Newman, and solidifies Misty's reputation as one of the most exciting acts in the world today.

And what about the live show? Expect total entertainment, a lot of grandstanding, with first class musicianship complimented by evocative visuals, hinted at during Misty's Coachella set.

Wed 8 Nov – Eventim Apollo, London
