Peter Andre has admitted he's not strict on what his children eat because he just wants them to have a healthy relationship with food
Peter Andre doesn't mind what his children eat - as long as they have a healthy relationship with food.
The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker has kids Junior, 11, and Princess, nine, with his ex-wife Katie Price and Amelia, three, and four-month-old son Theodore with his spouse Emily MacDonagh and has admitted he's quite lax on their meals because he wants to stress to them how important it is to eat everything in moderation and ensure they remain active.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I just want them to eat. I'm not telling them 'oh they can't have that', they're growing kids. My mum didn't say you're not allowed to eat this or you're not allowed to eat that. It wasn't like you've got to have more protein and less carbs - that's adult stuff. What I do instil in them is fitness.
"One of my biggest joys in life is food, and if you're not enjoying that what's the point. Fitness though has many benefits it keeps them working out; off the ipads and outdoors feeling energetic, but to counter that I want them to eat. So it's finding that balance."
The 44-year-old heartthrob has even tried to encourage his children to do some gym work with him when he's working up a sweat in his at-home studio - and they love it so much that they beg him to wait for them to arrive before he gets stuck into his ab routine.
He said: "When I go to the gym I know Junior and Princess are going to want to go to the gym. Amelia goes 'come on dad let's go to the gym'. She watched 'Peppa Pig' for the first half an hour while I do weights then we both do abs together. And when J and P are there they ask that I don't train until they get home."
Meanwhile, Peter has teamed up with Oykos for the second year in a row but this time fans are in with the chance of bagging a sun-soaked holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos with the hunk himself as part of the brand's current Island Escape on-pack competition.
