Take That changed their name when Robbie Williams returned to the band.
The 'Back For Good' group welcomed their former bandmate back in 2010, 15 years after his acrimonious departure, and for a short time, they were working under the name The English because they didn't want to "insult" their fans who were used to the line-up of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange.
Gary said: "You've always got to remember what you mean to people and we constantly underestimate that.
"Even when we were bringing Rob back and becoming a five-piece, he was very sensitive to it.
"He thought we should be called something else and was like: 'I don't want to insult Take That fans.'
"For a while we called ourselves The English and then we were like: 'What are we doing?' "
Robbie departed the band again in 2011 and the group were rocked three years later when Jason quit.
But the remaining three members tried their best to get Jason to stay, and even now still make repeated enquiries as to whether he wants to return.
Mark told Fabulous magazine: "We tried our best to convince him. We're still in contact. We always try to keep him involved in everything that we do to some extent, so he knows what our plans are. Every now and again we drop into conversation, 'Hey, do you fancy coming back next year?' "
Howard added: "We've been practising 'Wooden Boat' (which Jason has lead vocals on) and it sounds really good. We just need a vocalist!"
Meanwhile, the 'Giants' trio confirmed they have been offered a Las Vegas residency and may relocate their next year as 2017 will be taken up with promoting and touring their new album 'Wonderland'.
Gary said: "We have been offered. We were thinking of doing it this year or next. I don't know where we are up to!
"When we commit we want it to be the right thing.
"In our heads, this year is all about touring and getting 'Wonderland' out, but who knows about next year."
