There's no better way to spend bonfire night than all wrapped up, warm drink in hand with a spectacular fireworks display for entertainment. Luckily, there are plenty of options around the York and Harrogate area this November to help you celebrate bonfire night the right way.
At the Poppleton Centre Bonfire and Firework Spectacular in York, expect a huge display courtesy of the local community (Sun 5 Nov) with a bonfire, hog roast, live band and lots of food and drink on offer. The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm but tickets are limited and available only through advance sale so be sure to get them early.
If you've been lucky enough to get a ticket, the York Maze Fireworks Spectacular (Sun 5 Nov) promises to be quite a production thanks to the many activities on offer. As well as a traditional bonfire, spectators will be treated to music courtesy of live band Huge, kids will have access to play areas and a range of hot food will be served. Elsewhere in York, Dunnington Bonfire, Fireworks and Live Music (Sat 4 Nov) will host a family friendly night, with a five minute quiet display followed by live music and then the main display at 6.30pm.
Visit Stockeld Park Firework Display in Wetherby (Sun 5 Nov) for another family friend affair complete with a fireworks set to music starting at 5.30pm, along with entertainers and fire breathers. South of York in Bishopthorpe (Sat 4 Nov), The Marcia Inn will have their annual Bonfire & Fireworks Night. After the success of last year's event, booking is essential this year, with all profits donated to AYJS .
In North Yorkshire, Thorganby Bonfire and Fireworks Night will see the return of the annual festivities (Sat 4 Nov). Gates will open at 5.30pm, with burgers, hotdogs, cakes, snacks and drinks being served. Knaresborough Cricket Club will also have their own fireworks display (Sat 5 Nov) starting at 7pm with a bar and tuck shop open for business.
In Harrogate, the 2017 Charity Bonfire (Sat 5 Nov) will take place in aid of various specially chosen charities. Held on the Stray alongside Oatlands Drive from 6pm, the event is free but asks for donations for the chosen charities. Also in Harrogate, the Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels will host their annual bonfire and fireworks display at the racecourse from 5.30pm (Fri 3 Nov), the Wetherby Community Bonfire (Sat 4 Nov) will return with fairground rides, food and lots of fun and in Masham (Sat 11 Nov), the community bonfire will begin at 6.30pm on the Holme.
