Michael Fassbender has promised the 'Prometheus' sequel, 'Alien: Covenant' will be "scarier" than the first film and has more of a thriller feel to it
Michael Fassbender has promised the 'Prometheus' sequel will be "scarier" than the first film.
Filming on 'Alien: Covenant' - which is also a prequel to 1979 film 'Alien' - recently finished and the 39-year-old actor can't wait for everyone to see the finished product.
He said: "This Alien is going to be... I'm very excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying this is a film that we all want to see.
"It's much scarier than 'Prometheus', but it's got the same sort of scope of 'Prometheus'. It's kind of got more of thriller, imminent disaster feel that 'Alien' had, so it's kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films."
'Alien: Covenant' follows the crew of a colony ship that discovers what they believe to be an uninhabited planet, until they come across Michael's David, a synthetic android, who survived the previous expedition.
He added to Collider.com: "I'm really excited to see it, I think it's gonna be super scary number one and then again with the massive scope of 'Prometheus'... Once it starts and the ball starts rolling, it doesn't let up. It's really gonna bring chills to the cinema."
The film is directed by Ridley Scott and Michael recently revealed how he's brought lots of new ideas to the franchise.
He said: "There are going to be great sets and aliens coming out of people.
"The sets are fantastic. Again, the most impressive sets I've seen since 'Prometheus', which was the original setting. It's a fantastic mixture of high-end technology and primitive elements. The way that I can explain it is the same way that Ridley did 'Blade Runner'."
'Alien: Covenant' is due for release on August 4, 2017, by 20th Century Fox.
