Sir Tom Jones is reportedly set to return to 'The Voice' when it moves to ITV at the end of 2016

Sir Tom Jones is set to return to 'The Voice'.

The 76-year-old music legend is reportedly in "advanced negotiations" to reclaim his red chair on the talent show when it moves from the BBC to ITV later this year.

However, the only thing putting a spanner in the works is that Sir Tom is still grieving following the death of his wife Lady Melinda Rose Woodward - also known as Linda - who lost a short battle with cancer in April.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Tom is keen to get back on the show - something he wouldn't have been if it was still on the Beeb rather than ITV.

"It's being seen as a masterstroke to get him back as he's worried worked with them all - including Elvis - and commands respect.

"The only thing that is holding him back is whether it's too soon after this wife's death and whether that makes it the right decision."

The Welsh singer was sensationally let go by the BBC in August last year despite being on the show since it first started and, at the time, lashed out at the broadcaster for its decision.

At the time, he said: "I enjoyed it, but if they want me any more, they can go f*** themselves."

The 'Not Unusual' hitmaker will be reunited with if he rejoins the talent show as he's confirmed he will be returning.

He said: "I'm delighted to be continuing 'The Voice UK' on ITV and being a voice of direction and guidance for the usual suspects ...I know 'The Voice' switched to ITV, but I'm not going to Brexit 'The Voice UK'. I'm happy to make ITV my home now. I love the UK."

However, Tom's predecessor Boy George has decided to put an end to his 'The Voice' journey after just one series.

Meanwhile, the future of coaches Ricky Wilson and Paloma Faith is still unclear.
