Hugo Taylor injures himself on Tour De Celeb
Hugo Taylor has been forced to seek medical help after he injured himself training for the new cycling show 'Tour De Celeb'.
Hugo Taylor has injured himself training for 'Tour De Celeb'.
The former 'Made in Chelsea' star had to be checked over by doctors after he hurt himself while practising for the show, which sees contestants take part in a gruelling 146km endurance ride through the Alps, earlier this week.
A source explained: "They're [the contestants] all keen to get off to a good start but Hugo overdid it. He's frustrated but hopes to be back in the saddle soon."
And it seems the Channel 5 bosses are being extra vigilant after Channel 4's winter sports show 'The Jump' came under fire earlier this year when over half the contestants - including Hugo's former co-star Marc Francis Vandelli and Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle - were seriously injured while whizzing down the Austrian slopes on camera.
The insider told The Sun newspaper: "After the uproar surrounding 'The Jump', producers will be hoping this is the first and last of the injuries. With just eight people taking part they can't afford to lose any more."
Meanwhile, Hugo will be joined by choreographer Louie Spence, retired cricket star Darren Gough, fitness guru Lucy Mecklenburgh, Winter Olympics skeleton ace Amy Williams and ex-England rugby player Austin Healey as they attempt the L'Etape du Tour, a cyclosportive event that allows amateur cyclists to race over the same route as the Tour de France, across Europe.
The partaking stars have had three months to train - both mentally and physically - for the challenge, with Olympic gold-winning cyclist Victoria Pendleton on hand to ensure they master the biking skills in time for the mammoth task.
'Tour De Celeb' will hit screens on Channel 5 this summer.
