The soul pop band bring their anniversary show to nine arenas this November
To celebrate 25 years of their classic album, Stars, Simply Red will embark on a nine-date arena tour this November. The group will visit arenas in Liverpool, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Nottingham and London throughout the two weeks from Sun 13 to Sun 27 Nov.
This new show will be one of two halves: the first comprising a performance of Stars in its original running order, while the second half will be a mix of classic hits and fan favourites.
Best known for their 80s and 90s mix of soul, pop, reggae and New Romantic, Simply Red hit it big with singles ‘Holding Back the Years’ and ‘If You Don’t Know Me By Now’ in the 80s and scored a number one with ‘Fairground’ in 1995. Stars was released in 1991 and was the first of the band’s albums to feature all songs written by Mick Hucknall. It went on to win the band an Ivor Novello award for Best Songwriter of the Year and a Brit Award for Best British Band.
