Jack P. Shepherd has never considered Coronation Street quit
Jack P. Shepherd has admitted he's never thought about leaving 'Coronation Street' but will probably want to spread his wings at some point.
Jack P. Shepherd has never considered quitting 'Coronation Street' - but wouldn't think twice if the work dried up.
The 28-year-old actor may have spent the last 16 years portraying bad boy David Platt in the long-running soap but he has admitted he's never thought about walking away from the programme because he's always had juicy storylines.
He explained: "I've never had itchy feet. I've been lucky enough to get the plots, I suppose. The Platts are a prominent family on the Street and have always been at the front of the big stories. I feel very lucky to be a Platt! But if the work did dry up and we weren't getting great stories, then I probably would want to spread my wings."
However, the handsome star finds himself getting a bit frustrated when he's ordered to play bad David for too long.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Jack said: "I like the fact there's a good David and a bad David. I enjoy playing evil David, but I don't like to be evil for too long because you get stuck. If you're always going to be bad, you have to leave - a villain can't really be put into other stories.
"I love to have the comedy, the emotion and everything that goes with it. Then you get the bigger picture."
