Boldly go to Star Trek: The Exhibition in Blackpool

This summer Blackpool’s famed Golden Mile will play host to a major celebration of the Star Trek franchise's 50th anniversary, with an exhibition and series of events taking place throughout 2016 and 2017.

Opening Thursday 30 June, Star Trek: The Exhibition will take audiences on a journey through the history of the storied franchise, with original props, costumes and scripts that have never previously been seen in Europe – many from private collectors, as well as the opportunity to step aboard a spectacular recreation of the iconic bridge from The Original Series.

Designed by the stage designer Andrew Edwards, the exhibition will be an experience for fans and families to visit. The exhibition will come alive with an exciting new Augmented Reality app that allows visitors to appear transported. From Friday 2nd September, Blackpool’s famed Illuminations will also showcase a new light feature on the Golden Mile celebrating Star Trek.

With Star Trek: Beyond, the latest instalment of the rebooted film series, set for release 22 July, the timing couldn’t be better.
