Jenn Murray: Julie Walters made mistakes to put us at ease
Jenn Murray has revealed her 'Brooklyn' co-star Julie Walters deliberately made mistakes to help put her younger cast members at ease.
Julie Walters deliberately made mistakes on the set of 'Brooklyn' to put her younger cast members at ease.
Jenn Murray - who stars as Dolores in the drama film - says she was put at ease by her co-star Julie, who plays Mrs. Kehoe, revealing the legendary actress messed up to help her fellow actors and actresses "relax".
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the premiere of 'Love & Friendship' at The Curzon, Mayfair on Tuesday evening (24.05.16), Jenn revealed: "I was working with Julie Walters in Brooklyn, she made you relax. She makes mistakes, but she's not really making mistakes, she's just making you feel at ease. So then you get past that.
"I think I get that from watching by example, just how people behave on set. They've got good manners, they're prepared, they're passionate. They are the lesson."
Meanwhile, Julie certainly has a lot of advice for younger stars after she previously admitted she was "derailed" by fame.
She said: "Looking back, fame derailed me a bit. It was a surprise when people would come up to me and say, "Ooh, aren't you in that film?" In my ignorance, I mistook that for someone saying I was a marvellous actor. Of course they weren't. They were just gawping.
"But at the time, I just embraced it. I had this huge superiority complex. For years I thought I was the best thing since sliced bread, and if somebody didn't employ me, then they weren't worth working for. That's gradually been chipped away."
Stars who attended the premiere included Emma Greenwell, Kelly Campbell and the film's director Whit Stillman.
