Max Greenfield to star in The Glass Castle
Max Greenfield takes on dramatic new film role
Max Greenfield is to star in 'The Glass Castle'.
The 35-year-old actor will appear alongside Brie Larson in a dramatic role in the Lionsgate adaptation of American writer and journalist Jeanette Walls' memoir.
'The Glass Castle' will be directed by Short Term 12's Destin Daniel Cretton.
Jeanette's book reveals what her and her three siblings' unconventional upbringing was like at the hands of their nomadic and dysfunctional parents, alcoholic Rex Walls and painter and artist Rose Mary Walls.
The book tells the tumultuous story of how Jeanette and her siblings had to cope with their father's drinking and scamming and their mother's lack of responsibility and how they brought themselves up amid the chaos and poverty.
Brie is to portray Jeanette, whose escape to New York City as a teenager is disrupted by the arrival of her parents, while Max is to play Brie's' loyal but disaffected husband, a former rich kid who tries to help his wife deal with the re-appearance of her parents.
Naomi Watts and Woody Harrelson are to bring her parents to life on the big screen.
The film will start shooting in June 2016.
