Paul O' Grady has "no regrets" about declining an offer to host 'Britain's Got Talent'.

The 'For The Love Of Dogs' presenter has slammed the ITV talent show and admitted he would be "bored" if he'd accepted Simon Cowell's invitation to join the show, long before it started in June 2007, despite the 56-year-old music mogul telling him it could be called 'Paul O'Grady's Got Talent'.

He said: "I have no regrets about turning it down. I would get bored if I was a judge on it.

"The show is not about what you are doing on stage.

"It's about your history and whether you have got a sob story or not."

Meanwhile, asked if he'd like to replace current co-hosts Ant & Dec, he said while it's a "great show" if he was to go on as a contestant he wouldn't "touch it with a barge pole" because it's all about people's sob stories.

And the much-loved TV personality also joked that he has "cemeteries in his closet".

On if he'd be up for stepping in as a host, he told The Sun newspaper: "Would I sh**e!"

"It's a great show with all those eccentrics. But I would not go on it if I was starting off today.

I would not touch it with a barge pole. You have to have a sob story. And I haven't got skeletons in my closet, I've got cemeteries!"
