Edinburgh artists have donated work to an exhibition and auction aimed at tackling child abuse in the captial and across the Lothians. More than 20 pieces are currently being exhibited at Sofi’s Bar on Henderson Street in Leith - which is well known for supporting local artists - and will all be auctioned off to the public on Tue 5 Dec. All proceeds will go towards funding the local Barnardo’s counselling service, which uses art therapy to help abused children build their confidence and express themselves in a safe environment. Contributors to the project include local artists Kate Green, Peter Griffen, Calum MacDonald and Hannah Bloomfield. Anyone interested in picking up a piece of contemporary art for Christmas should call Sheila Patel at Barnardo’s for more information about the exhibition.
