'Poldark', 'Doctor Foster, 'Car Share', 'The Great British Bake-Off', 'Making a Murderer' and 'Humans' have been shortlisted for this year's Radio Times Audience Award at the BAFTA TV Awards
'Poldark', 'Doctor Foster' and 'Car Share' are among the shows up for the Radio Times Audience Award at the BAFTA TV Awards.
The 1780s drama, which stars heartthrob Aidan Turner, will face stiff competition from the Suranne Jones-led psychological drama and Peter Kay's sitcom for accolade, which is the prize at the May 8 ceremony voted for by members of the public.
Popular BBC baking show 'The Great British Bake Off', which is judged by Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, has also received a nod, as has Netflix TV series 'Making a Murderer' and Channel 4 sci-fi series 'Humans'.
Speaking about the nominated shows Ben Preston, Editor of Radio Times, said: "British television is on a roll and viewers are reveling in this new golden age of choice and creativity. This shortlist is truly six of the best - six great but very different shows which all captured the public imagination and got the nation talking."
Amanda Berry OBE, Chief Executive of BAFTA, added: "The six shortlisted programmes showcase truly entertaining and captivating television from last year."
Voting for the nation's favourite TV show opened today (29.03.16) and will draw to a close on May 5 at 4pm, three days ahead of the ceremony which will be held at London's Royal Festival Hall.
