Krysten Ritter: I chose acting because I'm 'scrappy'
Krysten Ritter claims she chose to audition for movies rather than go into modelling because she's "scrappy"
Krysten Ritter chose acting over modelling because she's "scrappy".
The '27 Dresses' star felt she was more "in control" when she went to audition for movies.
She told Esquire magazine: "Modelling trips were like being at camp with people that kind of looked weird and skinny like I did. The girls in high school were way worse. When you're young, your brain's not formed yet, so you just go with it.
"Then I went to these auditions and felt like I finally had some control over my life because I could always be better, funnier, show up on time, show up earlier. Whereas if you're a model, you just show up and people look at your pictures and that's it. I was never a wallflower. I've always been sort of scrappy."
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old actress previously gushed about her groundbreaking television series, 'Jessica Jones'.
She said: "When they locked me in a room at Marvel and I read the first two [scripts] and walked out, [executive producer] Jeph Loeb asked me, 'What do you think?' I said, 'I have to play her. It is a rare piece of material.' I had been acting for over 10 years and I hadn't seen anything like it before.
"I always knew it was bigger than me just getting a great part. I felt like it was groundbreaking material and a groundbreaking role."
