Kym Marsh wants to stay on Coronation Street for another 10 years
Kym Marsh is keen to persuade bosses to keep her on 'Coronation Street' for another 10 years because she wants to reach 50 before she considers a departure.
Kym Marsh wants to stay on 'Coronation Street' until she's 50.
The 39-year-old actress - who is known for playing beautiful factory manager Michelle Connor in the long-running show - has just reached 10 years on the popular soap and hopes she can persuade bosses to keep her for at least another decade.
Speaking to Woman's Own magazine, Kym - who joined the show in 2006 - said: "I've no thoughts about moving on.
"People always come and go on the show, that's just how it is, but I'm having a great time. Maybe I could still be on the cobbles in 10 years if it works for both parties."
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty has been promised she'll be entangled in some juicy plots later this year following the departure of megabitch Carla Connor (Alison King) this month.
A source said recently: "She will take over from Alison as 'Corrie's best all round performer being involved in the top storylines all the time. Losing Alison has been a devastating body blow deep down to the inner sanctum because not only was she a tremendous actress but Carla was seen as having everything for a soap role, sexiness, funny, ruthless, a boozer and depressive at the same time but all the time must watch TV.
"There is no doubt Kym can step into her shoes no problem - and the bosses are chuffed to bits."
And Kym isn't the only member of the cast who can breathe a sigh of relief knowing her gig on the Cobbles is safe, as Tina O'Brien, Melanie Hill and Faye Brooks - who play Sarah-Louise Platt, Cathy Matthews and Kate Connor respectively - have also had their contracts renewed.
