Paul Daniels' son has led the tributes to his father following the legendary magician's tragic death last night (16.03.16).

Gary Daniels, 46, took to his social networking sites moments after the news broke that the television star had passed away from a brain tumour to honour his dad.

The heartbroken star uploaded a photograph of a very fitting image of a crying rabbit being pulled from top hat with a broken hearted playing card wedged under his paw.

Boy George - whose real name is George Alan O'Dowd - took to his Twitter account to share his "sadness" over the tragic news, writing: "Sad about Paul Daniels. R.I.P"

Keith Chegwin believes the country has lost a "lovely, kind and magic man" and has admitted he'll miss him "a lot."

He wrote: "We have lost a lovely, kind and MAGIC man @thepauldaniels Love you & thinking of u @thedebbiemcgee . I shall miss him 'A LOT' xx (sic)."

Arlene Phillips expressed her sadness and reached out to Paul's wife Debbie McGee during this heartbreaking time.

She said: "Sorry to hear of the death of #PaulDaniels. My thoughts are with you @thedebbiemcge (sic)."

Louis Theroux added: "RIP Paul Daniels, a thoughtful skeptic, enemy of hucksterism and paranormal flimflam, and gifted magician. My condolences to his family."

And Amanda Holden branded the star a "trailblazer."

She said: "RIP @ThePaulDaniels he was a trail blazer for magic and will be missed (sic)."

The legendary television magician sadly passed away at his home in Berkshire at the age of 77 after losing his battle with an incurable brain tumour.

He leaves behind his heartbroken wife Debbie, 57, and his sons Martin, 52, Paul, 55, and Gary.
