Adele explains Katy Perry's influence on her Brits performance
London-born star Adele has revealed how her recent performance was assisted by Katy Perry.
Katy Perry helped to inspire Adele's performance at this year's Brit Awards.
The London-born singer has revealed she was influenced by an image Katy shared on her Instagram of Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room - The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away, the iconic art installation at The Broad Museum in Los Angeles.
Adele did not know where the photograph was taken but was so captivated by it, she showed it to her creative director.
She told The Broad: "It happens to be by her favourite artist, which I thought was ironic considering I saw it completely independent."
The award-winning artist subsequently filmed a performance in the same Infinity Mirrored Room and then used the film during her Brit Awards performance, when she sang her hit single 'When We Were Young'.
She explained: "I decided that I would love for this to be a part of my 'When We Were Young' performance at the Brit Awards in the UK, because you kind of see different versions of yourself from every angle and 'When We Were Young' is kind of based on my life from childhood up until now."
