Nothing Ever Happens Here and Braw Gigs are bringing DJ duo Optimo to Edinburgh. If you don't already know (seriously? It's been nearly 20 years) Optimo is JD Twitch and JG Wilkes, founders of iconic club night Optimo (Espacio).

The pair who reigned supreme in the Sub Club for so many years play 'anything that can be danced' to and love a bit of musical risk taking so expect some unusual mixes. Joining them at Summerhall's Dissection Room on Fri 29 Jan is producer and DJ Neil Landstrumm, offering up bass, techno and live electronics, and Mr TC, full name Thomas Clarke, one of the team behind monthly Art School club night, the Night of the Jaguar. His debut EP Soundtrack for Strangers was released on the Optimo Music label last year.

Live music night Nothing Ever Happens Here kicked off last March, helmed by Jamie Sutherland of Broken Records. 2015 saw performances from PAWS, Honeyblood and RM Hubbert with the Winter 2016 programme boasting performances from Scottish talent Hector Bizerk, Tuff Love and a joint show from Withered Hand, Pictish Trail & James Yorkston, as well as performances from Julia Holter (USA).

The Optimo gig is in association with Black T and ticket holders receive a complimentary bottle of Black T on arrival. Cheers Black T.

Optimo (Espacio), Summerhall, Fri 29 Jan, 10pm, £10.
