Alan Fletcher won't leave 'Neighbours' until he's axed.

The 58-year-old actor has played womaniser Dr Karl Kennedy in the Australian soap for 21 years, but he has admitted he has no plans to hang up his stethoscope and won't consider retirement until he's dropped from the show.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I have no plans to retire as long as I am having a great time and for as long as 'Neighbours' wants me to be there.

"It's one of those things, you should only do a job that you can put 100 per cent into it and I feel that way about 'Neighbours' and love it as much as when I first started."

Meanwhile, his cheeky alter-ego may be known for his love of skirt but Alan has teased things are set to take a different direction for his naughty character this year.

He explained: "The most enjoyable thing about playing Karl is it gives you a point of difference about who you really are.

"He has been very well-behaved lately but in 2016 you will see more of the Karl who falls foul to being manipulated by women. He has a tendency to be manipulated again."

'Neighbours' airs on Channel 5, weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm.

For the first time ever, the nation's favourite Australian soap is broadcast on the same day as their Australian counterpart.
