Jay-Z to play Scotland
Hip hop superstar Jay-Z is to play dates at Glasgow SECC on 20 July and Aberdeen Exhibition Centre on 21 July as part of a wider UK tour.
The rapper, who reportedly married his girlfriend Beyonce last week, will first headline Glastonbury on 28 June, becoming the first major hip hop artist to do so.
The platinum selling artist has been blamed in some quarters as being the reason why Glastonbury has not yet sold out -- including cries from Oasis' Noel Gallagher that Jay-Z was 'wrong for Glastonbury'.
Festival organiser has Michael Eavis has defended his selections for headliners, stating the festival's cumbersome registration system is at least partly behind the dip in interest in this year's event.
'Some may have preferred Oasis or Radiohead,' said Eavis, 'but we have made a change'.
Tickets for Jay-Z's Scottish shows go on sale on 23 June.
