Christopher Maloney claims X Factor made his hair fall out
Christopher Maloney believes the stress of competing on 'The X Factor' in 2012 made his hair fall out and forced him to have a "breakdown."
Christopher Maloney has claimed the stress of appearing on 'The X Factor' in 2012 made his hair fall out.
The 38-year-old singer - who came third on the ninth series of the reality contest - opened up about his "breakdown" to his 'Celebrity Big Brother' housemate David Gest in last night's show (07.01.16) and admitted taking part in the ITV programme made him feel "uncomfortable in his own skin."
He said: "It was pretty bad, I didn't know who I was, where I was going, what I was doing. I was under so much pressure and so much stress, that my hair started falling out."
Christopher went on to explain he was the target of vicious bullies four years ago when he was slammed with death threats and verbally attacked for his appearance.
He added: "The show put years on me. I looked awful."
Since then, the star has splashed out £60,000 on cosmetic surgery - having three hair transplants, two nose jobs, an eyelid lift and teeth veneers - to pull back his confidence.
Meanwhile, it seems Christopher was in a very open mood in last night's show as he also managed to rekindle his friendship with housemate Danniella Westbrook.
The formerly close friends hadn't spoken since March 2014 before entering the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house earlier this week, but it seems the pair are back on good terms after having a heart-to-heart in the bedroom.
