Xfm Scotland's Jim Gellatly wins radio award
- 16 April 2008
Jim Gellatly of Xfm Scotland was honoured with a PRS John Peel Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music Radio last night, 15 April. The award was presented at the Radio Academy's Celebration of Music Radio event at the London O2's Indigo2 venue, and recognised Gellatly's 20-year career in broadcasting.
On collecting his award, Gellatly - who has also worked for Northsound and Moray Firth - said: 'I thought it was a joke at first, a real 'I'm not worthy' moment when I realised it was true.
'Some true legends of radio have been presented this award in the past, so it's pretty mind-blowing that I'm to join that illustrious list. It's a huge honour to be associated with anything linked to John Peel, as he was a real inspiration.'
