Isle of Skye Music Festival 2008 cancelled

  • 15 April 2008

The Isle of Skye Music Festival, which has previously attracted acts like Kasabian and Primal Scream, has been cancelled for this year.

The event has been called off after organisers announced a shortfall of £500,000, with administrators being brought in to solve the fiscal failings.

Event organizers had anticipated attracting 8,000 punters but had only sold around half that amount in recent years, leading to the decision to cancel this year’s event.

This follows revelations by the BBC in which several musicians and equipment suppliers claimed they are still to be paid for 2007's festival.
