If you've ever dreamed a dream of watching Susan Boyle turn on a load of festive Christmas lights, you're in luck: the Bathgate lass will be doing exactly that this Sunday, as she headlines Edinburgh's Light Night festivities.

The event, which takes place on George Street, has been described as an 'all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza not to be missed', and there are a myriad of acts performing on the night across seven stages.

Susan Boyle, said: 'I am thrilled to have been asked to switch on the Edinburgh Christmas lights this year. I have travelled to Edinburgh to see the lights every year so to be in charge of switching them on is a real honour and I'm very excited to be taking part.'

Other highlights from the event include Siamsoir Dance Academy, who are performing their own unique and festive take on traditional Celtic dance moves (mashed up with Christmas tunes, of course), music from the Sick Kids Community Choir and a performance from Edinburgh Ballet School.

If you're heading along on Sunday, mind and dress for the weather: and yes, we do mean that reindeer jumper.
