Strictly Come Dancing: Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani injured
Jay McGuiness has injured his knee and left Aliona Vilani badly bruised after kicking her in the head during training for the Argentine Tango for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Jay McGuiness has injured his knee and left partner Aliona Vilani badly bruised during rehearsals for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former The Wanted singer and his professional dance partner Aliona are the favourites to win the BBC dance contest this year but have reportedly suffered a setback during training for their Argentine Tango.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It has all been going very smoothly for Jay and it looked like he would foxtrot to the final.
"But this week has been filled with problems. He can't get his head round the steps and has kicked Aliona a few times. They've barely completed it correctly at all.
"Now Jay's knee is leaving him in real pain too so they can't work too hard. He's starting to feel the pressure."
Jay is said to have kicked Aliona in the head twice while rehearsing, leaving her dizzy and disorientated.
And while the other contestants have been suffering aches and pains throughout the competition, until now, the worst injury Jay had suffered was a blister.
But he's now suffering with an old knee injury that began to flare up during training for his latest dance.
Speaking of his difficulties during rehearsals, Jay said: "I'm learning styles I've never done before. Believe me, without Aliona, it would be a car crash."
'Strictly Come Dancing' continues on Saturday (07.11.15) at 6.30pm on BBC One.
