Elizabeth Banks is returning to direct 'Pitch Perfect 3'.

The 'Hunger Games' actress - who played acappella commentator Gail in the first two films and also directed the second - has agreed to return to helm the third in the series, according to Variety.

Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson are also set to reprise their roles in the upcoming musical-comedy while Kay Cannon is returning to pen the script.

Universal and Gold Circle Entertainment recently announced 'Pitch Perfect 3' will be released on August 4, 2017 but at the time Banks is said to have been considering other projects.

'Pitch Perfect' was adapted from Mickey Rapkin's book 'Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory' and the first two films have grossed almost $400 million worldwide.

Banks will also be producing the film alongside her Brownstone Productions colleague Max Handelman and Gold Circle Entertainment's Paul Brooks.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old star is also set to direct Universal's upcoming 'Red Queen' adaptation and Sony's 'Charlie's Angels' reboot.

She's also starring in the upcoming third instalment in the 'Hunger Games' franchise, 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2'.

The Bellas are all struggling in the workplace after leaving college, so they get the old gang back together to tour European army bases. It plays out as an entertaining variety show mixed with an action thriller, with enough energy to deliver cheesy and diverting fun.
