Magic, gin and live music from Honeyblood and Bdy_Prts at the National Museum of Scotland
Entertainment includes magician Luke Eaton, a Victorian Selfie Studio, Dr Matt Lodder revealing the secret history of tattoos and Victorian karaoke accompanied by pianist Neil Metcalfe. If you need some dutch courage to help you step up to the piano Edinburgh Gin are hosting cocktail demonstrations in a gin parlour in Hawthornden Court and there are pop-up bars in the Grand Gallery.
The live music programme, curated by ourselves and hosted by Vic Galloway, features SAY award nominees Honeyblood. The female duo recently supported the Foo Fighters when they played Murrayfield and are playing this year’s Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert in the Gardens. They are joined at the museum by Glasgow alt.pop duo Bdy_Prts who played the BBC Introducing stage at this year’s T in the Park.
Also on the bill are Fresh Air FM, who bring a silent disco to the Imagine Gallery, The Red Door Gallery with themed craft activities and experts hosting objects handling and talks.
And if all that wasn’t enough you get to explore the museum by night, with no kids allowed, in a top hat.
