Annie Wallace to play headteacher in Hollyoaks
Annie Wallace has joined the cast of 'Hollyoaks' as headteacher Sally St. Claire, who will replace Jeremy Sheffield's character Patrick Blake
Annie Wallace is to play headteacher Mrs. St Claire in 'Hollyoaks'.
The 50-year-old actress - who was the inspiration behind 'Coronation Street's transgender character Hayley Cropper - is to shake things up at Hollyoaks High School as bully Patrick Blake's replacement.
Annie - who will play formidable head teacher Sally St Claire - said: "I'm delighted to be joining 'Hollyoaks' as Mrs. St Claire. She's such a great character and my first couple of scenes with Jeremy really show off her feisty personality - she's a force to be reckoned with. I hope the viewers love her as much as I do."
Patrick - who is played by Jeremy Sheffield - has been living with motor neurone disease and viewers have seen his condition deteriorate over the past few weeks.
Mrs. St Claire - whose no-nonsense attitude stems from her desire to help young people - is set to make her first appearance in the Channel 4 soap later this month.
Annie's character - who is described as married to the job - accepted the position at Hollyoaks High in order to "seek out the bad apples and make them into crumble".
However, while Mrs. St Claire is looking to help the kids achieve their dreams, she's also come to the village with an ulterior motive.
