Dannii Minogue "really tried" to be on this series of 'The X Factor'.
The 43-year-old singer - who was a judge on the talent show from 2007 to 2010 - was asked to assist one of the current panellists at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition this year, but her commitment to the Australian version of the show meant she was unable to take part.
She said: I really did try and be a part of it this year, for the home visits, but they're filming them live this time, later on in the year, and I'll be back in Australia doing 'The X Factor' there live. But, we'll see..."
Dannii - who has a five-year-old son, Ethan, with ex-partner Kris Smith - enjoys the fact she still gets recognition for her time on the show when she returns to the UK.

"But I haven't forgotten!"
And while she can't do any mentoring on the UK show this year, she hasn't ruled out performing on one of the live programmes.
Asked if she would showcase her music on the show, she said: "Maybe! Maybe..."
