Festival information for those travelling to Belladrum near Inverness this weekend

You've got your wellies, you've raided the snacks aisle at the supermarket and your beverages are decanted into plastic bottles. It's festival time. Avoid the traffic issues that plagued this year’s T in the Park and get yourself a travel plan for heading to Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. You can also check out which bands and artists are on what stage over the three days.

To get to Belladrum, take the A862 from Inverness towards Beauly. Approximately nine miles from Inverness, turn left onto the A833 signposted Kiltarlity and Drumnadrochit. After roughly one mile turn left at the second gate lodge signposted Belladrum – the single track public road runs through Belladrum Estate. Parking is free but you need one parking pass per vehicle.

Car Sharing
The festival is working with goCarShare to help cut the carbon footprint. You can request a seat if you need a lift, or rent out seats if you have any spare in your vehicle. The site is built around Facebook, so you might even have a mutual friend or two who you can gossip about on the journey.

Be even greener than the car sharers and cycle the 11 miles from Inverness to the festival with Velocity. They’ll join you for the ride and even transport your luggage, so you can zoom along without the weight of your camping gear and three days worth of body paint. There’s Bike Parking on site.

The closest train station is Beauly, approximately four miles from the festival. Trains run regularly from Inverness and there’s a handy bus service (see below) at the other end to take you to Belladrum.

Citylink and Megabus passengers will be dropped at the closest major bus station in Inverness. From here Stagecoach are running a shuttle service to the Belladrum site leaving every hour, on the hour, between 11am and 7pm. Tickets (£5 single, £8 return) can be bought at the station or on the bus but can’t be booked in advance.

For those who live locally, or are getting a lift from someone who doesn’t fancy getting stuck in a queue, you can board a local service run by Ross’s Minibuses. Times are scheduled to tie in with trains arriving from Inverness to Beauly station and collect from both the station and Beauly Square. Select services also pick up from Drumnadrochit, Struy, Kilmorack, Dingwall station, Conan Bridge and Muir of Ord.
