Tron Theatre announces Autumn / Winter programme

Going Viral by Daniel Bye

Drama, darkness, science, comedy … Tron Theatre has left nothing behind when putting together their Autumn / Winter 2015 programme, which aims to keep the tradition of 'breathing new life into classic plays' alive.

The programme includes Megan Barker's dark adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts, which tells the story of Helen Alving, a local counsellor whose 'carefully constructed life is shattered by revelations of political corruption and abuse'. The main auditorium will also welcome Daniel Bye's Going Viral – a scientifically challenging show that questions how epidemics are spread.

Other highlights include My Name Is, based on the real-life story of Molly Campbell who was seemingly 'kidnapped' by her father, What Goes Around, which transforms Arthur Schnitzler's La Ronde into a contemporary sex comedy, and Once Upon a Time, which looks into ageing and the passing of time through the eyes of two dancers and one trapeze artist (all aged over 65). Audiences can also expect performance poetry from the writers of Sky One's After Hours, Molly Naylor and John Osborne.

The work gets even more diverse inside the theatre's Changing House and Vic Bar, with a mix of kids shows, live music and dramatic plays set to hit the stage.
