The Lemonheads confirm London date this October

Alt.rock group The Lemonheads will be touring across the UK and Ireland this October, finishing with a date at London's indigo at The O2.

The band are best-known for 'Into Your Arms' and their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's Grammy-nominated 'Mrs Robinson.'

Despite forming in 1986, the band did not experience much success until original member Evan Griffith Dando met Tom Morgan and Nic Dalton in Australia in 1991. Their collaboration resulted in breakthrough album It's a Shame About Ray (1992), which featured popular songs such as 'Confetti' and 'Rudderless'.

Their follow-up Come on Feel The Lemonheads, propelled them further into the limelight, with 'Into Your Arms' being their highest chart success to date.

A few brutal years of touring ensued, and some more lineup changes, before Dando announced he was disbanding The Lemonheads in 1997, only for him to bring it back mid-noughties.

A decade later, after yet more lineup changes, (but don't worry – Dando's still in there),The Lemonheads have announced their first UK gigs in over three years. The week-long tour includes gigs in Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester, before culminating with a performance in London on Thu 8 Oct, which will feature support from indie rockers Sebadoh.

Library, Birmingham – Thu 1 Oct
The Gate, Cardiff – Fri 2 Oct
Limelight 2, Belfast – Sun 4 Oct
The Ritz, Manchester – Wed 7 Oct
Indigo2, London – Thu 8 Oct

Presale tickets for the London show are available from 11am on Thu 30 Jul; tickets are on sale to the general public from 11am on Fri 31 Jul.
