Belle & Sebastian, everyone’s favourite creators of jangling indie magic, are set to celebrate their 20th anniversary next year by playing two shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The band, who were formed in Glasgow in 1996, have released an impressive nine albums to date. These concerts, which will take place in June 2016, will each focus on one of the band’s first two albums: Tigermilk (Wed 22) and If You’re Feeling Sinister (Thu 23) .
Tigermilk was originally given a limited release of only 1000 copies in 1996. Soon after, however, the world saw sense and fell in love with the Stuart Murdoch-led band, and the album was re-released by Jeepster Records in 1999. Featured songs from the record include ‘The State I Am In’, ‘Expectations’ and ‘My Wandering Days are Over'.
If You’re Feeling Sinister was also originally released in 1996, and it’s fair to say the critics loved it. Rolling Stone put it on their list of 100 Best Albums of the 90s at number 75, and it’s not hard to see why, with hit songs such as ‘Like Dylan in the Movies’ and ‘Get Me Away From Here, I’m Dying’ being featured.
Tickets for the concerts are on sale from 9am, Fri 24 Jul. Presale begins 9am, Wed 22 Jul.
