Foo Fighters announce September gigs in Milton Keynes and Edinburgh
After missing their Glastonbury headline slot, Dave Grohl and co will return to the UK this autumn
Foo Fighters are set to make up for missing their headline slot at Glastonbury, by returning to the UK this September to play gigs in Milton Keynes and Edinburgh.
Frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg on stage in Sweden last month, leading the American rockers to cancel a number of dates in Europe. Still, he managed to make a memorable comeback earlier this July, performing in Washington DC while sitting on a throne.
Former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl formed the group back in 1994, and Foo Fighters have since gone on to win 11 Grammy awards and sell millions of copies of their eight albums worldwide.
Despite pulling out of the UK’s biggest music festival, the band have been strongly linked to a starring role at Glastonbury in 2016, with an insider claiming Michael Eavis has asked them to return next year.
However, UK fans will no longer have to wait that long, with the group playing Milton Keynes on Sat 5 and Sun 6 Sep, and Edinburgh on Tue 8 Sep. Iggy Pop will be making a special appearance at the Milton Keynes dates, while Royal Blood and Honeyblood will provide support for the Foos in Edinburgh.
Tickets are on sale to the general public on Fri 17 Jul at 10am. Those who purchased tickets to the cancelled performances in June will have access to an allocation of tickets on Wed 15 Jul from 9am.
Milton Keynes Bowl – Sat 5–Sun 6 Sep.
Edinburgh BT Murrayfield Stadium – Tue 8 Sep.
Tickets on sale from 10am on Fri 17 Jul.
