T in the Park 2015: Citylink bus, train, car-share and parking information
Festival transport information for those travelling to Strathallan Castle
As this is the first year Scotland’s biggest music festival is in its new home of Strathallan Castle, we decided to provide festival-goers with some information on how to actually get there.
T in the Park has teamed up with Citylink for another year to offer festival-goers a green method of travel, with additional services running all weekend directly to the festival drop-off point. Buses are operating regularly from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth, and will also be running from 76 other locations across the UK. A standard return from Glasgow or Edinburgh costs £36. Tickets must be booked in advance on citylink.co.uk or by calling 0871 226 3333.
Less eco-friendly but if you’d prefer to take the car, avoid travelling at busy commuter times and keep an eye on Traffic Scotland’s Twitter feed @trafficscotland for regular travel updates. The car park opens at 8am Fri–Sun and parking tickets can be purchased on entry, with weekend parking priced at £30 and day parking available at £20 (if coming by van it'll set you back £50). Make sure to write down exactly where you park, so that you don’t end up losing your ride home in a festival-induced haze of exhaustion on Monday morning.
For those travelling by rail, it is easiest to head to Glasgow, Edinburgh or Perth stations, before hopping on a Citylink bus. If you decide to travel to Gleneagles, you should use the shuttle bus service available outside the station to get to the festival, as there are no pedestrian routes to the site. However, the official website recommends heading to Glasgow or Edinburgh and taking the bus from there.
